Trend Tip: The Graphic Tee

This fall season has been a tricky one, to say the least. With weather fluctuating nonstop, reaching mid-to-high sixties in the afternoon and low forties at night, it is nearly impossible to find just the right outfit to tackle the entire day. But, I’m here to help. If you’re feeling helpless and chronically too hot and too cold, consider throwing on a graphic tee!

Okay, let me explain. I don’t mean a Delia’s graphic tee circa middle school awkward days (no offense Delia’s, just thinking about my regrettable past purchases involving puns printed on tees, like “you’re on a roll” accompanied by a sushi roll with a cheeky smile). What I mean is go to a store, honestly any store from a thrift shop to Nordstrom’s, and find a basic graphic tee. Pick something that you can relate to and speaks to you. If your favorite band is Metallica, grab a vintage t-shirt and rock it. I recommend opting for a tee with a muted tone because it will match with almost anything and take your look from cutesy to edgy in no time.img_3104

For my look, I chose a silk t-shirt with a black and white printed photograph of a bicycle and the word “FASHION” printed in handwritten font below it. I really liked this choice because it was super comfortable and easy to incorporate into any ensemble. I paired the tee with a pair of olive green jeans and black thigh-high heeled boots. To add just a little extra edge, I threw on my black leather jacket and my gold chunky chain necklace, flattering and bringing out the scooped neck of the tee. Oh, and for a little extra warmth in the cold of the morning, I threw on a wool knitted tan scarf. In this outfit, I was ready for whatever weather came my way and felt fabulous the whole day through!

Whether you dress it up or dress it down, grab a graphic tee on your next shopping spree and I swear this affordable purchase will be a necessity in your closet for years to come!

Until next time,
