#OOTD: City Spontaneity

Every once in a while, you need to embrace your inner spontaneity! But, being spontaneous with your closet is another story.

My roomie and I decided to hit NYC and go to a random bar (okay, maybe not that random because we’re natural planners…but you get the idea) and, of course, I needed to find an outfit. I’m constantly wearing all black, especially when I go out, so I knew I wanted to stray from my usual habits for something a little more exciting. I decided to take some inspiration from the bar we selected: Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel. Automatically, my mind flashed with outfit choices as Google images of the ritzy bar overwhelmed me with inspiration.

Once I faced my closet, I decided to grab my maroon off-the-shoulder leotard. I love this leotard because it’s elegant, sexy and unique with two layers of ruffles that hang down from the neckline. I paired this top with my new favorite leather skirt, complete with criss-cross laces going down the side and ending in a bow. This combination was exactly what I had in mind; not too loud or dressy, but edgy with just enough detail to make for an exciting ensemble. Last, but certainly not least, I completed my look with a pair of maroon lace-up ankle booties, a black faux fur coat, and a maroon shoulder bag.

So, if you have a night out on the town coming up, don’t be afraid to throw on a leather skirt with a cute top to add some flair. Whether your night is planned or spontaneous (or a little bit of both), you’ll be ready and look fabulous for whatever comes your way!

Until next time,

Katherine
